Dr. Rachelle Alcide, PT, DPT
Rachelle Alcide has led a distinguished career in the field of physical therapy. She has mastered proficiency in caring for a broad range of acutely and chronically ill individuals with compassion and empathy. She is well-versed in mitigating disability for diseased and injured patients. She received her Associate Degree (1999) in physical therapy from LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, NY; Baccalaureate degree in Sciences (2004) and a Master Degree in PT degree (2004) from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY; her DPT degree / Doctorate in physical therapy degree (2016) from College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Her passion for geriatric population is without reproach: She’s devoted most of her career working in Nursing Homes/Subacute Rehab Centers which stems from the influences of her grand-mother in her life. Due to her desire to remain diverse, she’s also worked in Acute Care, In-patient Rehab, Home Health and Out-patient. Her skills and knowledge have allowed her to customize treatment approaches utilizing many different philosophies. She’s held numerous Director of Rehab positions and Lead PT positions; has mentored countless interdisciplinary team members; has proven leadership and administrative qualifications including program development, staff supervision and management with emphasis on implementing efficient methods of operations and ensuring state and federal compliance as well as facility regulations and guidelines . Over the past 22 years of physical therapy services, she has taken a variety of continuing education courses, she’s focused on the most current treatment techniques, has utilized comprehensive assessment skills to identify patient’s needs, and her decisions making skills have always focus on evidence-based practices to provide the highest quality of care to her clients and optimizing potentials and abilities. Sheis looking forward in fulfilling her long-term goals of obtaining certifications in Lymphedema Therapy and Orthopedic Manual Therapy. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, her 16year old son, and 10 year old daughter. She uses gardening and meditation to unwind from her busy life.
